PSOB National Firefighter Survivor Support

The U. S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), Public Safety Officers’ Benefits (PSOB) Office is pleased to announce that it is seeking applicants to serve as a national partner to provide survivor peer support, counseling, services,

credit:


and resources to survivors of fallen firefighters and first responders nationwide.

This announcement furthers the Department’s mission by enhancing and expediting the submission, review, and processing of PSOB Death claims on behalf of thousands of survivors of America’s firefighters and first responders who fall in the line of duty each year, and by enhancing national peer support and counseling programs to assist families of these public safety officers who have died in the line of duty.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Applicants are limited to for-profit organizations and nonprofit organizations (including tribal nonprofit and for-profit organizations) with significant experience in designing and delivering support and resources at the national level for survivors of fallen firefighters and first responders.

Demonstrated knowledge of the PSOB Programs and related public safety and survivor initiatives is essential.

For-profit organizations must agree to forgo any profit or management fee.
