BJA FY 19 National Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI) Training and Technical Assistance

The purpose of this announcement is to select one TTA provider to deliver, nationwide, a wide range of TTA services to SAKI grantees; however, given the complexity and diversity of the tasks applicants are strongly urged to partner with other relevant providers.

not limited to, training sessions and educational sessions developed and conducted by relevant subject-matter experts (SMEs), onsite or remote guidance on SAK-related issues including inventory, testing, and tracking of SAKs; creation and reporting of performance metrics; gaining access to necessary training to increase effectiveness in addressing the complex issues associated with these cases; and engaging in multidisciplinary coordination, investigation, prosecution, and victim advocacy, engagement, and support in connection with evidence and cases resulting from the testing process.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
This MURI competition is open only to, and proposals are to be submitted only by, U. S. institutions of higher education (universities) with degree-granting programs in science and/or engineering, including DoD institutions of higher education.

To the extent that it is a part of a U. S. institution of higher education and is not designated as a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC), a University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) or other University Affiliated Laboratory (UAL) is eligible to submit a proposal to this MURI competition and/or receive MURI funds.

Ineligible organizations (e.g., industry, DoD laboratories, FFRDCs, and foreign entities) may collaborate on the research but may not receive MURI funds directly or via subaward.When additional funding for an ineligible organization is necessary to make the proposed collaboration possible, such funds may be identified via a separate proposal from that organization.

This supplemental proposal shall be attached to the primary MURI proposal and will be evaluated in accordance with the MURI review criteria by the responsible Research Topic Chief.

If approved, the supplemental proposal may be funded using non-MURI or non-Government funds.
