Monitoring and Tracking Maine Piping Plovers and Terns and Saltmarsh Sparrows

This is an announcement for issuing a single source financial assistance award to the Maine Audubon Society.

The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) via Migratory Bird Husbandry is protecting Maine Least Terns and Piping Plovers.

The society will monitor six beaches for nests and enclose the nest areas.

Birds will also be banded.

The society will also monitor and band Sharp tailed Saltmarsh Sparrows.

Work will include nano tagging.
