Participatory Utilization and Resource Efficiency of Water (PURE-Water) Activity

The Participatory Utilization and Resource Efficiency of Water (PURE-Water) is a three-year activity that aims to increase water productivity, efficiency, and quality, as well as foster behavioral change to reduce the rate of groundwater extraction in the Ararat Valley.

This goal will be accomplished

through an integrated water resource management and governance/civil society approach aimed at policy input, stakeholder engagement, and behavior change fostered through small-scale pilot projects.

The approach is based on the premise that the Recipient’s direct engagement of governmental and non-governmental actors, as well as community members in addressing water challenges together and finding joint solutions will lead to sustainable water management.
