The OITA is government's leading agency responsible for advancing the country's international environmental priorities. It's primary focus revolves around the determination of international environmental issues and the at the same time, the implementation of technical and policy options that would help address them.
In keeping with the OITA's role in advancing the nation's international environmental priorities, the agency has recently announced a funding opportunity for the "Artic Black Carbon: Reduction of Black Carbon from Diesel Sources" project.
The aforementioned project offers a funding opportunity to interested applicants as they work towards assessing primary black carbon sources in the Russian Arctic, and in developing a baseline emission inventory for black carbon sprouting from diesel sources, in implementing demonstration projects geared towards reducing black carbon from diesel; and finally in establishing policy recommendation and financial options for reducing black carbon derived from diesel sources in the Russian Arctic region.
The EPA has an estimated budget of $1,000,000 for this project, which is good for the entire four-year period of performance.
