The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) will award a cooperative agreement to continue the activities of the National Gang Center.
The Center provides training and technical assistance to OJP-funded programs and communities across
the country, tracks current research and trends on gangs, and maintains a database of comprehensive information on the development and implementation of effective gang prevention, intervention, and suppression strategies.
Many of these strategies and effective programs are on the Centers Strategic Planning Tool that is designed to help communities assess and address local gang problems.
This program is authorized pursuant to paragraph (16) under the State and Local Law Enforcement Assistance heading and under paragraph (3)(B) under the Juvenile Justice heading in the Department of Justice Appropriations Act, 2014, P.L.
