Radiation Biodosimetry Assays and Devices (U01 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) invites applications to develop biomarkers/bioassays, techniques and/or devices for use in the civilian population that are rapid, reliable, inexpensive and easy-to-use.

This FOA will support approaches addressing one or more of the following research

gaps:
1. Distinguish between the worried well and the exposed population, 2. Determine the radiation dose in the affected group, 3. Predict the acute and delayed radiation injuries to major organs/physiological systems by discovering biomarkers that can be used for triage and treatment decisions in the event of a large scale radiological incident.

S. Territory or Possession; Non-domestic (non-U.S.) Entities (Foreign Institutions) are not eligible to apply Non-domestic (non-U.S.) components of U. S. Organizations are not eligible to apply.

Foreign components, as defined in the NIH Grants Policy Statement, are allowed.
