The programs that are offered by the HUD are divided into the following major categories:
HUD makes it its mission to strengthen the country's housing market by bolstering the economy and protecting actual and potential consumers by meeting the need for quality affordable homes, making use of housing as a platform for improving one's quality of life, and finally, building inclusive and sustainable communities that are free from discrimination. |
1) The Office of Community Planning and Development - The programs under this office seek to create and develop viable communities by way of encouraging integrated approaches tat provide decent housing opportunities, suitable living environments, and more importantly, expanding economic opportunities for low and moderate income persons.
2) Federal Housing Administration (FHA) - The goal of the FHA is to provide mortgage insurance on loans that are made by FHA-approved third-party lenders through the United States and its territories. In addition, the FHA also intends to insure mortgages on single family and multifamily homes.
3) Office of Public and Indian Housing - The programs constituted under the Office of Public and Indian Housing is geared towards ensuring the development of safe, decent and affordable housing, the creation of opportunities for residents' economic independence, and finally, the assurance of the fiscal integrity of the all of the people who participated in the program.
4) Office of Sustainable Housing Communities - The programs under the Office of Sustainable Housing Communities are geared towards the creation of strong, sustainable communities by way of connecting housing opportunities to jobs, fostering local innovation and helping people build a clean energy economy.

Development of Measures to Determine Successful Hearing Health Care Outcomes
In accordance with this mission, the National Institutes of Health has recently collaborated with the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) in an attempt to constitute the Development of Measures to Determine Successful Hearing Health Care Outcomes Program.
National Institutes of Health funds the Improving Adherence to Treatment Regimens for HIV-Positive Adolescents and Young Adults
The National Institutes of Health has recently established a program entitled Improving Adherence to Treatment Regimens for HIV-Positive Adolescents and Young Adults wherein they intend to kick-off research studies that will create, implement, and evaluate both old and new interventions that are geared towards improving adherence to medical and behavioral regimens for HIV-positive adolescents which are 11 to 21 years old and adults who are 21 to 24 years old.
Early-Grade Reading Improvement Interventions Program
In line with this mission, the USAID has developed the Early-Grade Reading Improvement Interventions Program wherein they seek to solicit interventions that would improve the reading achievements in the early grades in Latin America and in the Caribbean region.
Department of Housing and Urban Development's Dollar Homes Program
The Dollar Homes Program revolves around the process of selling single family homes for a superbly reasonable price of $1 (plus closing cost) to low-to-moderate income families, granted that these houses have been acquired through foreclosure by the Federal Housing Administration, and have already been actively marketed for at least six months and still remained unsold after that certain period of time.
