Developing Measures of Shared Decision Making (R01)

Shared decision making (SDM) is a collaborative process in which patients and members of their clinical team work together to make health care decisions informed by scientific evidence as well as patients own values and preferences.

SDM has proven difficult to measure, and the literature points

to significant gaps and limitations in the measurement of SDM.

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to invite applications to develop, test, and evaluate measures of SDM that can be used to conduct research in clinical settings.
