Operations and Maintenance of the Los Lunas Silvery Minnow

The primary purpose of this grant is for the New Mexico Interstate Stream Commission Los Lunas Silvery Minnow Refugium (LLSMR) to continue Rio Grande Silvery Minnow (RGSM) propagation activities, to include breeding and propagating silvery minnow in a facility that mimics the Rio Grande, producing fish

for augmentation of the Middle Rio Grande without degrading the genetic diversity of the silvery minnow; minimizing culture-induced domestication; minimizing hatchery-induced behavior; housing a refugial population to prevent extinction from a catastrophic disaster in the wild; and housing an independent population to prevent captive population catastrophic loss.

These actions address the Recovery Goals and Objectives in the revised U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) RGSM Recovery Plan and are necessary for the prevention of extinction of RGSM in the Middle Rio Grande.

Also, these activities are in direct support of, and in accordance with, the USFWS 2003 Biological Opinion.

The principal place of performance will be the LLSMR at 1000 Main St.

NW, Building H, Los Lunas, NM 8703 1. The Principal Investigator is Douglas Tave and the fiscal representative is Grace Haggerty.

Influencing Social Good Through Retail

When Hannah Davis   traveled to China to teach English, she noticed how Chinese workers and farmers were often sporting olive green army-style shoes. Those shoes served as her inspiration to create her own social enterprise, Bangs Shoes.
