Ground Up Adventures Receives $24,000 Matching State Grant

Agency - North Dakota Department of Commerce Tourism Division

Ground Up Adventures (GUA), a nonprofit that focuses on promoting and organizing adventure based activities, seeks to build a boathouse on the Red River.


To help with the project, a matching grant is awarded to the nonprofit that is worth $24,000. GUA will be using the matched funds to rent out kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, and other boating gear.

Three social enterprises were recognized at the 2013 President’s Challenge Social Enterprise Award for their major contributions to society. SATA CommHealth and Bliss Restaurant landed Social Enterprise of the Year titles, while Bettr Barista Coffee Academy bagged the award for Social Enterprise Start-up of the Year.
