Because FY2011 full-year funding has not been appropriated for this program, the availability of any such funding for these programs is contingent upon future Congressional action.

The overall purpose of the program is to fund demonstration projects to improve asthma control among children and

others currently residing in federally assisted multifamily housing developments that are administered by local public housing authorities (i.e., public housing) as well as privately owned multifamily housing that is subsidized by HUD (e.g.

Project-based Section 8, section 202, and section 811 housing).

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Academic and non-profit institutions located in the United States, state and units of general local government and federally recognized Native American tribes are eligible under all existing authorizations.

For-profit firms also are eligible; however, they are not allowed to earn a profit from the project.

Applications to supplement existing projects are eligible to compete with applications for new awards.

Federal agencies are not eligible to submit applications.

The FY2011 General Section identifies threshold requirements that must be met for an organization to receive an award.

Individuals are not eligible to apply.
