Public Health Training Centers

The goal of the Public Health Training Centers Grant Program is to improve the Nation's public health system by strengthening the technical, scientific, managerial and leadership competencies and capabilities of the current and future public health workforce.

Emphasis is placed on developing

credit:


the existing public health workforce as a foundation for improving the infrastructure of the public health system and helping achieve the Healthy People 2010 Objectives.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Eligibility includes an accredited school of public health, that plans, develops, operated, and evauluates projects that are in furtherance of the goals established by the Secretary for the year 2000 in the areas of preventive medicine, health promotion and disease prevention, or improving access to and quality of health services in medically underserved communities.

Additionally, existing grantees applying for continuation funding are eligible.
