Hazen P. Moore Park Paddle Share- MISS

The goals of the project are to increase the access to the Mississippi River from Cottage Grove, Minnesota by kayaks; increase the understanding of the natural, cultural, historic and recreational aspects of this part of the Mississippi River; improve residents' and visitors' awareness of the

Mississippi River in Cottage Grove.

The project assists in the creation, promotion, facilitation, and/or improvement of the public’s understanding of natural, cultural, historic, recreational and other aspects of areas such as ecological conservation areas, and state and local parks.

This project will expand Mississippi River Paddle Share to Cottage Grove within the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area.

In the first year, install Paddle Share rental stations to hold 9 kayaks and supporting equipment at the Hazen P.

For the life of the equipment (5 years), the City of Cottage Grove will maintain the equipment.
